Operating Costs
The following shows operating costs for the Moquitos Slayer, with this information you can decide the most economical way to purchase your consumables.
Both the Series 4 and the Pro use the same amount of consumables. The Series 4 tray will need topping up every couple of days and the Mosquito Slayer Pro every couple of weeks.
These costs are our best estimates and may vary depending on the temperature and humidity in your area. The assumption is the units are operating 24 hrs per day for 365 days per year. You can then adjust according to your region. A colder climate may not need to operate all year round, where a hotter climate may.

The total cost to run your Mosquito Slayer 24/7 for 365 days per year in the above example would be $1.48 per day. “Less than the cost of 1/2 a cup of coffee”
* – The cost of Gas may vary depending on your region and size of bottles available. We recommend you contact BOC Gas or Supagas for your gas supplies. This is an easy product for the public to purchase. It is used in extensively in aquariums and for home bars.
The above costs are based on a Mosquito Slayer sited on the Gold Coast. Lure costs may vary slightly depending on the evaporation rates in your local area. Remember, don’t place your Mosquito Slayer in full sunlight throughout the day. Mosquito and Midge don’t like full sun.
We can supply you a 3kg or 6kg CO2 bottle (please call for pricing) but be aware the major CO2 suppliers may not fill your own bottle. Check first. Also be aware that the CO2 bottle requires periodic hydro-testing and servicing the same as your LPG barbecue bottles do. Most home brew shops will fill CO2 bottles and some will even allow you to buy a bottle and then use the swap and go system eg Keg King.
